Minor in Film Studies

Description of Curriculum

The Film Studies minor offers students the opportunity to select a program of study that examines the many facets of American and international films. The interdisciplinary nature of the program allows students to experience different approaches to film study: film and cultural differences, basic film vocabulary, film history, film and social forces, film genres, film theories, film directors, and film aesthetics.

The Film Studies minor does not offer classes in filmmaking or working with film equipment. Those courses are open only to Film Majors.
