FSU has developed an innovative curriculum for your Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Animation and Digital Arts that will prove to be unparalleled. At our satellite campus in West Palm Beach, Florida you will be learning from a faculty body composed of award – winning industry experts who share a gift for teaching the art of storytelling in digital filmmaking. Your story begins with a BFA in Animation and Digital Arts from the renowned Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts.
The Animation and Digital Arts program is built upon a hands-on, project-based approach to learning. Spend your first year at Florida State’s Tallahassee campus, fulfilling a minimum of 30 credit hours of the FSU liberal studies requirements. Then immerse yourself in the major for three years (sophomore, junior and senior years) at FSU’s urban campus in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida. Transfer students are welcomed to the program. You will be producing a series of festival ready, short films, with industry-level equipment and facilities, culminating in your senior thesis film. Focused on digital motion picture production, the emphasis of the curriculum is on such areas as: computer animation, visual effects, green screen, and motion capture technologies.
Ideal for filmmakers, West Palm Beach, Florida provides compelling shoot locations ranging from Spanish style mansions to coastal beaches and urban alleyways. Working in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission, you will learn permitting procedures and gain access to countless environments. A vibrant community rich in cultural activities, West Palm Beach is abundant with creative inspiration. Our facility is located in the heart of a thriving arts district that includes the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and Norton Museum of Art. Stirring events such as Sunfest, Florida’s largest waterfront music and art festival, and the Palm Beach International Film Festival offer you entertainment and networking opportunities.
