Graduate Financial Information

Graduate Assistantships

The Film School awards a limited number of graduate assistantships each year. The award includes a stipend of approximately $1,400 per semester paid in bi-weekly increments, and tuition waivers for a minimum of nine credit hours. The actual number of waivers awarded will vary each semester based upon availability. Graduate assistants may be assigned teaching or other classroom duties.

Consideration for an assistantship is based on the financial need of the student. To apply for an assistantship, please complete the Application for Graduate Assistantship form, and submit it with your application to the Film School.

Scholarships

The Film School awards a limited number of cash scholarships each year. Consideration for a scholarship is based on the financial need of the student. To apply please complete the Application for Graduate Assistantship form and submit it with your application to the Film School.

College Teaching Fellowships

The competitive College Teaching Fellowships are awarded annually by the University to new graduate students. While these are administered by the Office of Graduate Studies, a specific number of Teaching Fellowships are awarded competitively by each school and college. The base stipend is $6,300 for the academic year. Each college or department decides what duties will be required from the fellow. Depending on the duties, 9-12 hours of graduate tuition waivers will be awarded. Contact the FSU Office of Graduate Studies for information.

Leslie N. Wilson - Delores Auzenne Assistantship for Minorities

The Leslie N. Wilson - Delores Auzenne Assistantship for Minorities is available for all new or currently enrolled minority graduate students. Nomination is through the department or college, but competition for these awards is on a university-wide basis. The stipend is a minimum of $5,000 for the academic year, plus tuition waivers. The application for the 2009-2010 competition will be available in October 2008 through the FSU Office of Graduate Studies.

Office of Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid provides information and advising for graduate students in search of need-based financial aid. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to ensure that they are eligible for the widest range of assistance.
