The Wall

An MFA Directing 3 project, "The Wall" is a glimpse into the life of Bernard, a New York City Cellist who, after years of struggling against unbearable guilt, finds little solace in the world, save for his music. As Bernard’s fate hangs in the balance, a woman moves next door who shares not only his passion for music but is herself no stranger to tragedy.

Director

Michael Lloyd Green, MFA 2008

After graduating summa cum laude in creative writing from the University of Central Florida, Michael worked for Haxan Films, shooting behind-the-scenes videography on “Altered” (Rogue Pictures), their first major film since “The Blair Witch Project.”

Shortly after, he returned home to Miami, where he served as assistant to Colin Farrell on the set of Michael Mann’s feature “Miami Vice.” That same year, he co-wrote his fourth feature screenplay, entitled “Fine Like Gossamer,” which was pitched, only months later, at the Sundance Producer’s Workshop.

In 2008, Michael completed his Master of Fine Arts degree in film production at Florida State University. In his final semester at FSU, Michael was selected to write and direct "After the Storm," one of the school’s five thesis shorts. He is pursuing a career as both a writer and a director in Los Angeles.

Director's War Story

Margaret Van Every (a Jewish violinist) had never acted before, and Lanny Thomas (a local actor) had never touched a stringed instrument. We filmed in two adjacent apartments. So while on one side of “The Wall,” I served as acting coach, on the other, we focused more on the music.
